The Bialetti Moka Pot

Been wanting to try one of these for a while.

I ordered the 6-cup model, but wish I had gone bigger. That’s my only complaint so far.

In short, the Bialetti Moka Pot is a cheap way to make espresso. It forces hot water up through the coffee grounds, different than the drip method most of us are familiar with. The machine is made of three fundamental parts, some gaskets, and an escape valve. It’s a piece of industrial art.

The coffee is, as expected, strong. But quite good :-)

The Wiki entry for the Moka Pot is a good read. See it at the Bialetti site, also has good instructions and info. (they’re on Instagram)
