One day last week we were driving through the beautiful Finger Lakes region of NY.
It’s a hot-bed of discussion and argument over hydraulic fracturing, or the less pleasant sounding “fracking.”
I wasn’t able to snap a pic but we saw a bunch of signs that said verbatim:
Now I would like to think that those creating and placing these signs realized the irony, the contradictory nature of the sign. But I would be willing to bet they don’t.
If fracking is banned in some area (village, town, state, country), then people in that area who might want fracking on their own land have lost their land rights, not retained or protected them.
