Wristwatch Updates: Lunokhod, Urwerk, Autavia, & MUCH More!

Lots great stuff to check out today. Don’t miss the Russian steampunk Konstantin Chaykin Lunokhod, the stunning Breguet La Tradition pics, or the new Urwerk UR-10001 pocket watch (more pics)! (pic via aBlogToRead)

I just bought a Vostok Amphibia”SCUBA Dude,” should arrive later in the week, can’t wait.

This Hamilton Pan Europ is slick, love it. How about Felipe’s new Grand Seiko?

Did someone unearth some vintage Poljot Space Watches? Oh, and some great pics of the Bréguet  Tourbillon Quantième Perpétuel  N° 1437.

Curious as to what the UR-10001 looks like in the hand? Felix Baumgartner’s hand no less. It’s the closest thing I can get to a wrist shot!: Curious as to what the UR-10001 looks like in the hand? Felix Baumgartner’s hand no less. It’s the closest thing I can get to a wrist shot!

Autavia 11630 MH Black/Orange – Heuerville: One of Heuer’s most striking Autavias, the orange/black was in the Heuer range for a long time, fairly rare for a Heuer from this period. It is seen in catalogues from 1972 to 1985. These aren’t difficult to find, but not many are in mint condition. It’s occasionally, and incorrectly, referred to as the ‘Orange Boy’, a common mistake drawn from the striking orange hands and dial design.

Review: Seiko 5 SNZH53 Diver in Blue: But, I wasn’t looking for a DIY project (though that might be fun further down the road); I just wanted a nice heritage diver. So I looked into the SNZH line. The “Fifty Five Fathoms” mod is most often made with the 57 version, which is black with gold details. … So when I saw the 53, with its blue and silver decor, I knew I had found the model for me.

Watchscapes: Urwerk UR1001 – another uber cool watch from Urwerk: The latest is a uber complicated timepiece…Felix calls this the culmination of all 15 yers of Urwerk, and the Mothership to all Urwerk watches. This watch, also known as a Zeit Device, uses a conucopia of indicators – with satelites on turrets, upon retrograde indication. Makes an interesting watch.

Panerai PAM127 1950, review & analyse. – Equation of Time: The 127 is the most mythical PAM of the Richemont years, cheaper than the PAM203, more typified than the PAM232, more bestial than the PAM249, it imposed itself, not without difficulties, as the sexiest PAM in the heart of the “Usual Paneristi.”

Hands on with the Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea – Monochrome Watches: Our contributor from Down Under gets hands-on experience with the Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea. A memorable timepiece and one of the best re-issues that ever crossed our path.

Hamilton Khaki Mechanical 44mm Hand-wound–REVIEW: Another unplanned purchase, dammit. First was the Tissot VisoDate 1957 Heritage ( Tissot Visodate 1957 Heritage Collection Automatic – REVIEW ) and now this. The Hamilton Khaki 44mm Mechanical. I stumbled across it on eBay. It had a “Buy it Now” price that seemed very reasonable, so after some mild number crunching, I snapped it up.

Weekly Watch Photo – Lange und Söhne 1815 – Monochrome Watches: At Monochrome we really enjoy beautiful photographed watches and many of these pictures are made by watch collectors who are also passionate about photography. Today it’s Jocke’s A. Lange und Söhne 1815.

IWC Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia Watch: What you are seeing here is the most complicated IWC watch ever created. It is called the Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia (ref. 5041) and it will be available only via custom order. IWC recently launched it at a powerful celestial observatory in Chile, and it represents a new high-mark for the brand.

TZ Classics: Inside Hublot of America: After sales service is a hot topic among watch collectors and an important aspect of the luxury watch industry. Often Customer Care and Repair Service is viewed by watch collectors as the Achilles Heal of the industry. We read about bad experiences and complaints about slow service, or improper repair work being done. If a service centre make an error, it seems the whole world notices the mistake and the issue is magnified ten folds. At least that is one side of the coin. But what about the view from the other side?

Watch Reviews by MCV: Review of Poljot ‘Sturmanskie’ Russian Pilot’s Chronograph: I’ve been intrigued by the Sturmanskie series of Russian chronographs manufactured by Poljot ever since seeing one in person at my friend Monty’s house about two years ago. The Sturmanskie is billed as ‘the official Russian pilot’s chronograph’ and carries the logo of the Russian Airforce on the dial. I enjoy the colorful dials, the nifty chronograph subdials and the overall purposeful look of these watches.

Reflecting its Founder’s passion for design and nautical sports, Stolas offers a trio of sport/dive watches, all offered at a reasonable price point.
